Safe @ Home is a one-day program designed for high school-aged youth who are beginning to spend time at home without a parent or caregiver.
Through practical learning and discussion, participants will explore everyday situations they may encounter while home independently and develop the knowledge and confidence to respond safely.
What will participants learn?
- Internet safety
- How to handle phone calls and visitors
- When and how to ask for help
- Recognizing hazards and responding to emergencies
- Fire safety and calling 911
- Basic kitchen safety
The goal is to help youth feel more prepared, confident, and comfortable when spending time at home independently.
